Errors & Misconceptions:
1. Panic Reaction to Covid.
You should be alert, conscious and sincere in addressing the disease but there is no need to panic. 99% of the patients get well after having Covid infection.
2. I have got great immunity. Corona won’t effect me.
In fact, anyone can get Covid.
3. I got vaccinated. I am 100% safe.
Even after both doses of vaccination, you are prone to covid infection. So be on alert. However, vaccination may reduce infection complications.
4. Neglecting early symptoms and not availing medical help.
Delay results in loss of important and vital time to control the spread of virus.
5. Consuming prescription of a friend or relative who recovered from Corona.
There is no customized medical solution. Each individual has different set of symptoms and co morbidities. Always take medicine as per your Doctor’s advice.
6. Reluctant to get tests done.
Get blood, urine, Radiology tests as recommended by your Doctor. They help to assess your condition and avoid complications later.
7. Resting less, doing regular work-at-home or exercising too much, while you are infected.
It hampers the process of fighting the infection and recovery post infection. Do mild exercises, and rest 8-10 hours a day.
8. Discontinuation of therapy as soon as symptoms disappear.
Post Covid complications are well documented. Take complete course of medication and post Covid recovery medicines as advised by your Doctor. In fact, certain tests might be required during recovery to ascertain continuation of certain medicines.

DO NOT start or stop anti-coagulation therapy without your Doctor’s consent. Strictly follow the duration and dosage advised as the dose and its duration is dependent on multiple factors attributable to the patient and different individuals will require different doses for different period of time, based on their Risk Profile.
Steroids: Steroids make an integral and very important part of Covid Treatment. They act as life saving drugs, retard the spread and progression of virus and help in acute respiratory distress. The choice of the steroid agent, the dose and duration of the drug, the choice of whom to give and when to give is very technical and should not be intervened by the patient or attendants. DO NOT start or stop the steroid agents without your Doctor’s consent.
